COMPENSATION/BENEFITS MANAGER

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: VP Human Resources
SUPERVISES: None

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in management of the compensation function for the bank. Plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company’s goals and competitive practices. Assures thorough audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. Review and assist in development and up-date of all employees benefit programs and ensure that each complies with government regulations.

DUTIES:
1. Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation/benefit policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost
    effective and consistent with compensation trends and Corporate objectives, coordinates implementation and provides guidance to
appropriate management 
2. Provides advice to management on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including
    the
design of creative solutions to specific compensation/benefit-related programs
3. Manages and assist with the administration of direct compensation (executive, exempt and non-exempt cash, incentive, bonus compensation programs) for staff
    including the computation, processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions on behalf of employees
4. Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data
5. Participates in completion and review of both exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are competitive and achieved
6. Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local benefit/compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance
7. Prepare and/or ensure required reporting is accurately completed and filed in accordance with federal, state, and local benefit/compensation laws and regulations
8. Serves as back-up payroll processor
9. Remain knowledgeable and aware of benefit changes due to the Health Care Reform Act
10. Assist with an effective Wellness Program


RELATIONSHIPS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Responsible to the VP Human Resources for the fulfillment of all duties assigned
2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, or Accounting field preferred
3. Four to seven years’ experience in a human resources management capacity, specializing in benefits/compensation administration
4. Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs; company policies and operations
5. Mathematical aptitude, analysis skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
6. Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with management
