ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER

 

 

DEPARTMENT: Retail

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager or Regional Branch Manager

SUPERVISES: Teller, CSR, Head Teller

 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide assistance in the management and coordination of full service, profitable branch for First Farmers Bank & Trust. Give support for all branch operations including staff supervision and all service areas. Current or prior management experience necessary.

 

DUTIES:

  1. Provide assistance to Branch or Regional Branch Manager in the following areas: 

    1. Supervise, train, coach, and perform annual reviews for all branch personnel.

  2. Oversee all operations for this branch in absence of a Branch Manager.

    1. Scheduling branch staff.

    2. Develop job responsibilities and goals for each employee at your branch.

    3. Hold monthly meetings with your staff to discuss operational issues and sales opportunities.

    4. Hold weekly huddles with your staff.

    5. Develop and implement strategies to help grow deposits.

    6. Determine fee refunds.

    7. Daily settlement of the NSF list.

  3. Conduct financial consultations with customers and take applications for all consumer loans including home equity line of credit applications.

  4. Maintain customer contact and handle all customer complaints.

  5. Assist with branch reports.

  6. Assist with maintenance items that need completed at the branch.

  7. Ensure and oversee daily ATM and teller balancing.

  8. Assist in counting tellers out when they are more than $100 off.

  9. Perform monthly audits to ensure that the branch is in compliance with operational standards.

  10. Compliance with all branch security policies, including but not limited to, proper branch opening and closing.

  11. Maintain a working knowledge of the ATM including; balancing, maintaining and supplying as needed; sometimes on call after hours.

  12. Ensure completion of all quarterly education courses.

  13. Assist tellers to expedite the work flow.

    1. Processing customer transactions; such as, cashing checks, handling deposits, withdrawals, money orders, and cashier’s checks.

    2. Balance cash within teller drawer daily; pull and check teller balances daily.

    3. Manage and resolve all customer requests for updates, inquiries and any problems either in person or over the phone.

    4. Process cash advances; spring/fall property taxes; and wire transfers as needed.

    5. Processing/Ordering checks and all related products for customers.

  14. Perform back-up CSR duties as needed.

    1. Provide quality customer service through knowledge of all bank products and services.

    2. Expand and retain bank customer relationships while growing new relationship from prospective customers.

    3. Educate new and existing customers about features and benefits of bank products and services. Proactively refer customers to appropriate personnel.

    4. Open all consumer and commercial deposit accounts while looking for opportunities to cross-solve potential financial needs.

    5. Follow-up with all new accounts utilizing the 2-2-2 process.

  15. Perform back-up Head Teller duties as needed.

    1. Ensure and oversee daily teller balancing.

    2. Ensure teller line is in compliance with all established policies and procedures.

    3. Maintain accurate records and secure control of vault inventories, cash and other negotiable items. Maintain adequate supplies of all inventories.

    4. Branch vault responsibilities including; ordering weekly and balancing daily.

    5. Ordering and maintaining branch supplies.

    6. Responsible for keeping the staff up-to date on all FFBT policies and procedures.

    7. Review and provide reports on Past Due Safe Deposit Boxes and Teller Offages.

  16. Attend the Branch Manager meeting when requested.

  17. Participate in any sales activities as directed by the Branch Manager or Regional Branch Manager.

  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

     

RELATIONSHIPS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Responsible to the Branch or Regional Branch Manager for the fulfillment of duties assigned. 

  2. Ability to provide the necessary assistance in managing branch banking personnel engaged in retail operations to achieve profit, growth and customer service objectives within bank policy guidelines.

  3. Requires knowledge of established procedures, methods and practices, and extensive knowledge of customer base.

  4. Will be called on from time to time to participate with community organizations and community projects.

  5. Three to five years banking experience preferred including customer service/opening accounts.

     

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Normal office environment. 

  2. Extended viewing of computer screens.

  3. Moderate lifting up to 25 pounds.

  4. Repetitive hand and arm movement.

  5. Environment may necessitate excessive standing.
