Regional Branch Manager – North Region (Position could be located in Kokomo, Huntington, Peru or Logansport) 

 

DEPARTMENT: Retail

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Chief Retail Banking Officer

SUPERVISES: Knox, North Judson, Culver, Peru, Kokomo North, Kokomo Central, Kokomo Square, Flora, Huntington, Wabash

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible and accountable for directing and administering, through subordinate personnel, a group of Bank Branches to achieve profit, growth, and customer service objectives through the development of deposits, assets, operational efficiencies and fee based services.

 

DUTIES:

  1. Provide positive leadership and open communication for all staff in region

  2. Maintain complete understanding of all bank products and services

  3. Work with Retail Staff, Branch Manager, Mortgage Officers and Commercial Loan Officers to evaluate potential prospects and prominent customers in the region for business development

  4. Administer and direct sales programs per branch within region

  5. Visit branches within region a minimum of twice per month

  6. Conduct Branch Manager meetings within region as needed

  7. Conduct CSR and Head Teller meetings within region as needed

  8. Maintain a high level of communication throughout the region

  9. Schedule and conduct quarterly Branch Manager meetings in combination with other Regional Branch Managers

  10. Review and evaluate regular reports of branch activities, including staffing, loans, deposits, overdrafts, and audits to meet regional profit and performance objectives

  11. Ensure bank policies and standard operating procedures are consistently and uniformly applied by all Branch Managers

  12. Identify questionable actions, operational inefficiencies and problems and follow through with resolutions

  13. Resolve personnel issues, working with the assigned Human Resources personnel to ensure resolution within established procedure and guidelines

  14. Evaluate Branch Manager performance on a consistent basis, providing counseling and guidance as needed

  15. Annually prepare formal performance evaluations in an honest and impartial manner, recommending salary increases, career growth and promotions as appropriate

  16. Assist Branch Manager in researching competitive products and services in target markets

  17. Promote a sales culture, ensuring staff receives proper training to demonstrate abilities to sell and cross-sell

  18. Assist in developing a Customer Satisfaction program

  19. Assist in developing goals for each branch

  20. Assist in annual budget process and coordinate overall branch budgets for the region

  21. Assist Branch Managers with the development and management of quarterly Business Plans.

  22. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  23. Attend ALCO meetings and Loan Officers meetings

 

RELATIONSHIPS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Responsible to the Chief Retail Banking Officer for the fulfillment of duties assigned

  2. Position calls for effective time management skills, project coordination experience, the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients

  3. Extensive computer knowledge and grammar skills are necessary

  4. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

  5. Maintain relationships within the business community including participation with community organizations and community projects

  6. Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred

  7. Three to five years of related experience (sales, retail deposit area/staff management)

  8. Good management and human resources skills

  9. Extensive background in financial institution operation policies and procedures, banking regulations (state and federal), employee development, sales and management
