POSITION SUMMARY:

The Branch Manager II position administers management for a full service, profitable branch for First Farmers Bank & Trust. Supervising branch retail staff and providing input on different committees as needed throughout the year is required. This position must assist customers in providing detailed knowledge of bank products and services, articulate the benefits and conditions of these services and cross sell products to new and current clients as needed. Driving new sales opportunities into the branch through outside selling is required.

 

DUTIES:

  1. Supervise, train, coach and perform annual reviews for all branch personnel. 

  2. Manage overall branch operations including but not limited to:

    1. Scheduling branch staff.

    2. Develop job responsibilities for each employee at your branch.

    3. Have monthly meetings with your staff to discuss sales opportunities and operational issues.

    4. Have weekly huddles with your staff – subject matter to be determined by the Regional Team.

  3. Establish and help attain performance objectives for your branch.

  4. Contribute to the interaction with other bank departments, to include but not limited to Commercial Loan Officers, Mortgage Officers, Wealth Management, and SCI Leasing to leverage sales opportunities.

  5. Develop an outside calling strategy to build new relationships for the bank.

  6. Conduct targeted sales calls, through in-person contact as well as via phone conversations.

  7. Proactively drive sales opportunities through outside selling to consumer and business clients.

  8. Provide quality customer service through knowledge of bank products and services.

  9. Expand and retain bank customer relationships and solicit new relationships from prospective customers.

  10. Educate new and existing customers about features and benefits of bank products and services. Proactively refer customers to appropriate personnel.

  11. Develop and implement strategies to help grow deposits.

  12. Investigate competitive offerings in your market.

  13. Review and provide reports to management including:

    1. Branch totals for deposit

    2. Teller offage

    3. Total cash for your branch

    4. Past due safe deposit boxes

  14. Conduct financial consultations with customers and take applications for all consumer loans including home equity line of credit applications.

  15. Assist commercial loan officers with past due customer information for your branch.

  16. Determine fee refunds and settlement of the NSF list in conjunction with the Head Teller.

  17. Oversee the maintenance items for your branch, including the parking lot.

  18. Assist in counting tellers out when they are off more than $100 or with surprise audit counts.

  19. Test the branch security equipment and investigate security issues as needed.

  20. Coordinate training of staff on all bank products and services on an ongoing basis.

  21. Maintain customer contact and handle customer complaints.

  22. Ensure the branch stays in compliance of all applicable federal and state regulations.

  23. Ensure completion of all quarterly education courses.

  24. Build and insure employee and customer satisfaction levels are met.

  25. Attend all applicable meetings including Branch Manager Meetings.

  26. Be an active member in the community.

  27. Complete the CD maturity list – calling upon all customers in question.

  28. May be responsible for multiple branches.

  29. Assist tellers and CSR’s in peak times to expedite the work flow.

    1. Processing customer transactions; such as, cashing checks, handling deposits, withdrawals, money orders, and cashier’s checks.

    2. Balance cash within teller drawer daily; pull and check teller balances daily.

    3. Manage and resolve all customer requests for updates, inquiries and any problems either in person or over the phone.

    4. Process cash advances; spring/fall property taxes; and wire transfers as needed.

    5. Processing/Ordering checks and all related products for customers.

    6. Open all consumer and commercial deposit accounts while looking for opportunities to cross-solve potential financial needs.

    7. Follow-up with all new accounts utilizing the 2-2-2 process.

  30. Perform back-up Head Teller duties as needed

    1. Ensure and oversee daily Teller balancing.

    2. Ensure Teller line is in compliance with all established policies, and procedures.

    3. Maintain accurate records and secure control of vault inventories, cash and other negotiable items. Maintain adequate supplies of all inventories.

    4. Branch vault responsibilities including; ordering weekly and balancing daily.

    5. Ordering and maintaining branch supplies.

    6. Responsible for keeping the staff up-to date on all FFBT policies and procedures.

    7. Review and provide reports on Past Due Safe Deposit Boxes and Teller Offages.

  31. Participate in any sales activities as directed by the Regional Branch Manager.

  32. Perform other duties as assigned.

     

RELATIONSHIPS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Responsible for the Regional Branch Manager for the fulfillment of duties assigned. 

  2. Will have contact with the customers and public.

  3. Ability to manage branch-banking personnel engaged in retail operations to achieve profit, growth and customer service objectives within bank policy guidelines.

  4. Previous experience in retail banking, sales and staff management preferred.

  5. Requires sound knowledge of established procedures, methods and practices, and extensive knowledge of customer base.

  6. Good sales and computer skills, and a proven ability to develop business opportunities are necessary.

  7. Should be analytically minded and possess good judgment.

  8. Must demonstrate sales, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  9. Maintain relationships within the business community including participation with community organizations and community projects.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Normal office environment.
  2. Extended viewing of computer screens.

  3. Moderate lifting up to 25 pounds.
  4. Environment may necessitate excessive standing .

  5. Repetitive hand and arm movement.

  6. Moderate business traveling.
